Pacific Image Electronics Launches High-Resolution Film Scanner With Quality And Workflow Optimization Features For Mini-Labs

Torrance, CA (PRWEB) February 21, 2004

Value-priced film scanner provides mini-labs with easy handling of 35-mm high-res files and a wide range of image enhancement features. Pacific Image Electronics Inc. announces the PrimeFilm 3650LAB, a high-performance 35 mm film scanner with features specifically chosen to facilitate both quality and workflow in the mini-lab.

The PF3650LAB is designed to provide fast scan-times and photo indexing for workflow optimization. Professional-level features such as 16-bit A/D conversion, 3600 dpi optical resolution, and 3.4 dynamic range give the mini-lab the edge in providing its customers with the best quality product. Digital ICE3™, the industry’s preferred image enhancement tool, is incorporated to allow the mini-lab to produce high-quality digital reproductions of the original photographs.

Fast Scan Times Boost Productivity…

An IEEE1394 interface included with the PF3650LAB allows the user to scan an entire 36-frame strip of 35mm film in as little as 450 seconds (7 minutes 30 seconds) at 1200 dpi, or in 594 seconds (9 minutes 54 seconds) at 1800 dpi to boost productivity in the mini-lab. A USB 2.0 interface is included with the PF3650LAB, as well.

The PF3650LAB is equipped with a built-in auto focus mechanism that automatically adjusts the focus whenever the film is not positioned at the most desirable distance from the scanner. This step is performed before pre-scanning, which assures the most accurate scans possible. Manual focus is also provided as an option.

The straight-line transportation device allows the mini-lab user to scan consecutively up to 40 frames at a time without using an external film holder. The fast, continuous batch-scanning feature will extensively improve overall workflow.

PhotoIndex software is bundled with the PF3650LAB, adding the ability to print out a photo index contact sheet from a 36-exposure roll of 35mm film.

The PF3650LAB operates at 3600dpi optical resolution, which produces a digital image (internal scan depth) of approximately 17.9 million pixels (3,456 X 5,184) offering optimal clarity. 16-bit A/D conversion allows the film scanner the most accurate color reproduction and color grading at a 3.4 dynamic range, retaining the subtlest details in the highlight and shadow area of the scanned image. A white and infrared LED array light source is used, versus a CCFL (cold cathode florescent light) to assure consistent and exact color conformity in scans.

World Class Image Enhancement Software Bundled with PF3650LAB…

Kodak Austin Development Center (ASF )’s Digital ICE3TM, which includes Digital ICE, Digital ROC and Digital GEM, is an important feature of the PF3650LAB. Digital ICE3TM allows the user to digitally clean, correct and restore film images to optimize the image quality. Digital ICE3TM is the industry’s preferred software for dust and defect removal, color restoration and noise or grain reduction in digital images. The unit, which is lightweight (4.6 pounds) and measures 9.37″ x 4.05″ x 6.96″, connects via IEEE 1394 or USB 2.0 port, back-end support for USB 1.1, to any Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000 or Windows XP system.

Set-up is a snap, with easy-to-install scanning software and drivers.

The PF3650LAB launches at an MSRP of $ 999.99.

Cupofmoney.com Launches New Healthy Coffee with Ganoderma that Helps Fight Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and other Diseases that Plague our Society Today

(PRWEB) October 4, 2005

Gano Café is the world’s first great-tasting healthy coffee produced by Gano Excel. It is a delicious coffee drink that helps to provide energy and vigor, while reducing fatigue. Ganoderma, provides the lift in energy that coffee drinkers look for, but without the caffeine jitters. Scientific research has shown that Ganoderma can help with blood pressure and diabetes — two health problems that plague our society today.

Gano Café helps the body fight disease the way nature intended. Ganoderma Lucidum (the natural substance in all of Gano Excel’s products) is said to help enhance health by removing toxins from the body and then building up the body’s immune system.

Ganoderma Lucidum is the scientific name for a species of Red Mushrooms and is said to be more powerful than Ginseng. Known as the “Miraculous King of Herbs,” Ganoderma (also known as Lingzhi in China, Reishi in Japan, and Youngchi in Korea) is listed as a Superior Herb in Sheng Nong’s Pharmacopeia, an ancient Chinese Herbal Text dating back over 2,000 years.

Gano Excel offers an excellent business opportunity for entrepreneur-minded people to market their healthy coffee. In fact, the company combines two billion dollar industries — coffee and nutrition — into one outstanding opportunity.

The opportunity, not only involves becoming an independent distributor, but allows entrepreneurs to teach others how to make money and become successful.

Gano Excel is a global company with corporate headquarters in Malaysia, and operations and offices in 21 countries and growing. Founded in 1995, Gano Excel has over one million consumers and Independent Distributors worldwide. Gano Excel (USA) maintains office and warehouse facilities in California. Gano Excel (Canada) mainatins office and warehouse facilities in Richmond, B.C.

Here are some coffee industry facts:

Coffee is the second largest commodity in the world – next to oil.

Starbucks buys over 100 million pounds of coffee each year.

2.4 billion pounds of coffee are sold per year in the United States.

The United States is the world’s largest consumer of coffee.

The entire U.S. population consumes more than 500 million cups a day.

A typical cup of coffee contains approximately 138 mg of caffeine. The unique blend of ganoderma in this product neutralizes the caffeine dramatically to only 9 mg per cup, but still provides that “lift” and boost in energy that coffee drinkers are looking for, but without the caffeine jitters.

Each serving is individually and neatly packed making them great for travel or outdoor events. Simply pour contents of one package into a cup, mix with boiling water, stir and enjoy! Want a summer refresher? Try this unique healthy coffee blend over ice, or throw it into a blender with ice cream for a real treat.

Bingo It’s Coffee. Darren Little, Founder of Bingo.com, is Betting Big on the Healthy Coffee Industry as He Launches Cupofmoney.com

(PRWEB) October 22, 2005

Leave it to marketing visionary Darren Little, 41 of Vancouver BC and the founder of the world?s most popular online Bingo site; Bingo.com, to launch yet another dotcom category creator; Cupofmoney.com — marketing the world?s first healthy coffee.

?Simply visit http://www.cupofmoney.com and click on Learn More? says Little. ?After viewing a short presentation on our products it will become quite apparent why we are so excited about this new launch. We are so confident in the taste of our exciting line of healthy beverages, that we offer consumers an opportunity to sample them for free.?

Gano Cafe is the world’s first great-tasting healthy coffee produced by Gano Excel. It is a delicious coffee drink that helps to provide energy and vigor, while reducing fatigue. Gano Cafe contains an ancient ingredient derived from a species of Red Mushrooms that is said to be more powerful than Ginseng. Known as the “Miraculous King of Herbs”, Ganoderma (also known as Lingzhi in China; Reishi in Japan and Youngchi in Korea) is listed as a Superior Herb in Sheng Nong’s Pharmacopeia, an ancient Chinese Herbal Text dating back over 2,000 years.

Want a summer refresher? Try this unique healthy coffee blend over ice, or throw it into a blender with ice cream for a real treat.

Little, who became a dotcom millionaire at the age of 35, claims he can see industry trends years before they actually take hold in the marketplace, and feels that healthy coffee will bring an entirely new trend into an industry already led by the world?s second largest commodity traded on the stock exchange today.

Little says that when he launched Bingo.com, it was a totally uncharted industry. The offline industry statistics played a large factor in his decision to take the concept online, but until then no one had blazed a trail down the uncharted path. Bingo is the most actively supported form of entertainment in North America with over 1.2 billion visits per year and is more popular, in visits per year, than all sports activities, movies, rock concerts, and casinos combined. Five years after its launch, Bingo.com now has over 1.2 million registered users.

Coffee on the other hand is the second largest commodity traded on the stock exchange today with over 500 million cups of coffee consumed daily in North America alone.

?With gourmet coffee shops popping up on every street corner and line-ups becoming more and more difficult to deal with, online healthy gourmet coffee sales will be the next inevitable direction that the industry will head into? says Little. ?With direct to door delivery for all of our products, Cupofmoney.com will market the world?s first healthy coffee and will be there to support that demand?.

Industry experts admit that this is the first time they have seen a health product delivered through coffee, mocha, hot chocolate and tea and that unlike vitamins, which are sometimes hard for people to swallow or introduce as part of their daily routine, people don?t have to change their daily habits to experience the benefits of this product.

?Everyone take?s a coffee break? says Little ?that?s what makes enjoying this product so easy. People actually look forward to drinking our products on a daily basis.?

Little estimates that similar to the online gaming industry that the market for the world?s first ?healthy coffee? will reach into the billions of dollars over the next decade. Cupofmoney.com provides online ordering and direct to door delivery for their entire line of products. Simply log-on to http://www.cupofmoney.com; click on shop, click on general and choose from the company’s list of healthy beverages: mocha, classic, 3 in 1, tea, or even hot chocolate.

Mississauga Hockey League Launches Play-More – A New Program Combining Player Assistance with Academic Achievement

(PRWEB) March 1, 2006

Today, the Mississauga Hockey League (MHL) and its eight member Associations announce the launch of Play-More, an innovative program that combines assistance to players unable to play due to severe financial constraints with a commitment to academic achievement.

The Play-More program removes barriers and provides any eligible Mississauga resident hockey player with the opportunity to play hockey at all levels of competition.

However, hockey is just one part of a player?s experience – education is another. Achieving success in both is the guiding principle of the Play-More program. As part of the program, the Mississauga Hockey League will work with the students and parents on this initiative to help monitor the player/student?s progress academically and on the ice. Positive feedback from both could result in renewal for the following season should the assistance conditions remain the same.

The objectives:

1. Provide the assistance for a player to play hockey.

2. Offer a renewal incentive for the player to ?give back? by encouraging him/her to improve in school and demonstrate positive behavior both on and off the ice.

Funding for the Play-More program is provided by the Mississauga Hockey League, its Associations, and selected Partners.

For more information about Play-More, contact Brad Norris or visit http://www.hockey.on.ca for complete details.

About the Mississauga Hockey League

Water SolutionZ International Launches Fully Integrated Whole-House Water Treatment System

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) September 20, 2006

Following the successful launch of it?s CT Series? of cleaning agents for HVAC systems in North America, Water SolutionZ International has launched the next-generation, high efficiency residential water treatment product called PureHomeRO?. The product has recently been installed in single-family custom homes as well as multi-unit luxury condominiums.

This system delivers clean, safe, soft water for the entire home providing an affordable and more effective alternative to the myriad of water treatment products such as water softeners and point-of-use water filters. Pure Home RO? is a whole-house water purification system integrating reverse osmosis (RO) technology with other compatible methods of water conditioning. RO water treatment is a proven, effective technology commonly used in bottled water plants, hotels, restaurants and hospitals to ensure quality water.

?After significant development and testing, we are confident PureHomeRO? is the right product at the right time. Homeowners on any source of water?municipal or well?can improve the quality and safety of their water. For smart homeowners, builders and condo associations that take it upon themselves to ensure high quality water, this advanced generation, multi-stage technology is the smart way to protect the family, the home and the real estate investment,? says Jeffery Grade, Chief Engineer of Water SolutionZ.

With a PureHomeRO? system, the water for the entire home is cleaned and softened via a five-stage process. First, the raw water passes through a pre-filter to remove contaminants as small as 1 micron. The second stage passes the water through an activated carbon filter that is very effective with chlorine reduction and also ensures excellent taste and eliminates odors. The critical third stage pressurizes the water through an ultra-thin, semi-permeable RO membrane which reduces hardness and microscopic contaminants and pathogens such as protozoa cysts (including cryptosporidium and Giardia lamblia), bacteria (including E-Coli) and viruses. The fourth stage is another carbon filter for ?polishing.? The fifth stage is an ultra-violet (UV) light to ensure any possible remaining microbes are eliminated.

Problem water is more than just all the inconvenience of hard water from calcium or manganese and it is more than just smelly, troublesome water due to high levels of iron or hydrogen sulfide. In fact, some water supplies also have noticeable levels of contaminants such as chlorine, nitrates, sodium, lead, arsenic, radium, copper and bacteria. The result of having RO water throughout a home is immediate and dramatic because every faucet, sink and water-related appliance in the home delivers clean, safe, soft water. Some advantages are less obvious but are critical to healthy living and for the house itself. For example, PureHomeRO? eliminates the absorption of chlorine into the skin from showers and baths. It provides longer life and energy efficiency for water heaters, dishwashers, washing machines, ice machines and humidifiers. It also prevents rust, corrosion and fouling of pipes.

Water SolutionZ International, Inc (WSZ) is a U.S. based manufacturer and marketer of advanced water treatment equipment serving industrial, commercial and residential customers. With expertise and dedication in the water conditioning industry, they have offices throughout North America. For product or sales information regarding PureHomeRO? please call 1-847-656-0400 or visit http://www.purehomero.com.

VideoRay Annual Conference in Key Largo Launches Wireless VideoRay and Brings Together Micro-ROV Users

Key Largo, FL (PRWEB) December 5, 2004

The VideoRay International Partners Symposium in Key Largo, Florida, was an international underwater technology event, with 90 attendees from 15 countries learning what’s new with the 8-pound underwater robot.

With VideoRay users from science, law enforcement, homeland security, offshore, engineering, and education in attendance, the mid-November event featured realistic training sessions, expert presentations, and in-water demonstrations. Many attendees came equipped with their VideoRays, which were tuned up and accessorized by an on-site maintenance team.

The Marine Resources Development Foundation (MRDF) and Jule’s Undersea Lodge lagoon hosted hands-on, in-water ROV training and demonstrations of new technology. Ten representatives of the US Coast Guard Marine Safety and Security Teams were in attendance from California, Hawaii, New York, Washington state, and Washington, DC. The MSSTs, deployed specifically for Homeland Security, simulated ROV harbor search/recovery and homeland security scenarios in the MarineLab and Pennekamp State Park lagoons.

VideoRay’s new PC Pilot excited attendees who test drove the new system for the VideoRay Pro III and Deep Blue models. This system allows VideoRays to be operated using a PC and joystick or game controller. PC Pilot and a wireless joystick can control a VideoRay that is directly connected, or deploy the submersible across the globe using the Internet.

Chris Olstad, habitat operations director for MarineLab, commented, “The most intriguing aspect of the whole experience was remotely flying the VideoRay using a laptop computer with a wireless internet connection. A highly integrated video game controller moved the ROV almost intuitively. Head-mounted display goggles provided a totally “immersive” undistracted visualization experience.”

Olstad remarked that the technology has “far reaching implications for the next generation of marine scientists, technicians, and engineers.” He hopes to integrate the wireless VideoRay into the MRDF MarineLab Habitat student/aquanaut experience (Projects SEA SQUID and Remora) and the MarineLab student offshore experience.

Top rated speaker sessions included a presentation by Larry Murphy, chief of the National Park Service’s Submerged Resources Center, who showed how his group has used the VideoRay to explore a submerged B-29 bomber and survey the USS Arizona, where teams are at present doing a more scientific research on the sunken WWII battleship. Steve van Meter of NASA/Kennedy Space Center received high marks for his story of using the VideoRay in his successful mission to find a thruster lost from the Space Shuttle simulation aircraft.

Dave Phillips and Tom Crossmon, of the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department, captivated the audience with a presentation called “Body Recoveries Under Ice,” which documented the department’s forensic investigations with the VideoRay in cold waters. The pair used the VideoRay to locate drowning victims when dive missions were unsuccessful and to spare divers from the hazards of spending long durations in freezing water and boggy situations. The VideoRay also performed conclusive forensic investigations of the sites before authorities removed the bodies.

Philips and Crossmon also instructed attending authorities on how to build and manage an ROV operations team to boost the ability of local public safety authorities and first responders to react to threats, crimes, and accidents. The session complemented a Grant Writing Workshop that preceded the conference, and advised agencies on how to procure Homeland Security grants.

The most raved-about video was shown in a session called “Moose “Stalking” and Other Adventures of the Isle Royale Institute.” Mark Gleason, the institute’s director at Michigan Technological University, captured hilarious encounters between the VideoRay and a moose being studied in the wild.

“The VIPS event allowed close interaction between the VideoRay development teams and the VideoRay users,” said Dave Stinebring of Penn State University. “Specific needs of the users could be addressed and incorporated into the long range development plan.”

“Networking with other VideoRay users is the most valuable part of VIPS,” says Steve van Meter of NASA/Kennedy Space Center. “I picked up several good ideas; one is the perfect solution to a project I have using sonar to image a large intake pipe.”

“This year’s conference in Key Largo was such a positive experience regarding the convenience and ease with which I could view both equipment and the companies both using and manufacturing the latest and greatest in new technology for our very different fields,” said Rich Faulk of Above and Below H20. ”The on-site hands-on testing was by far the best experience of any conferences I have attended.”

“I was able to meet with several people who had similar goals for the use of ROVs,” said Mark Gleason of Michigan Technological University. “I will be starting a few new projects because of those conversations, and my new contacts will result in more activity for me and my VideoRay. It was a great location to spend some time working with a very useful underwater tool.”

“Attending VIPS was especially valuable to me because I had the opportunity to discuss the use of VideoRay with sonar in narrow spaces with other users,” said Henning Føsker of Norconsult, whose session on the same topic was also highly rated by attendees.

VideoRay ROVs are the smallest, most portable, and most responsive remotely operated vehicles available for use in underwater environments. Weighing just 8 pounds and starting at $ 5995 USD, VideoRays are used for underwater surveys, offshore inspections, search and rescue, homeland defense, science, fish farming, and a range of applications.

Incog-Neato Leakproof, Designer Bed/Chair Pads Launches New Web Site

Annapolis, MD (PRWEB) April 10, 2008

Tammy Cheskis, inventor and owner of the iParenting award-winning Incog-neato Leak Proof Protectors announced today the launch of a new Incog-neato.com web site featuring her designer products. Her leakproof pads differ from others on the market thanks to the attractive fabrics she chooses and the unique quilting design. Ms Cheskis launched the new web site to make buying the leakproof pads easy for everyone.

“Most leakproof bed sheets make a distinctive crinkly sound which embarrasses a child and can really cause trauma,” says Ms. Cheskis. “For adults with incontinence problems, the hospital bed pads are ugly. Incog-neato solves all these problems.”

Three years ago, Ms. Cheskis began experimenting with fabrics and quilting designs until she created a product that can hold several pints of liquid, can stay put on a bed without straps and looks good. She found a combination of layered fabrics and bindings that worked well and laundered easily. In addition, the unique quilting pattern allows most of the pads to be folded for easy storage and transportation.

Insisting her product had to be manufactured in the United States, Ms. Cheskis discovered a quilting house in Stratford, Conn., entirely owned by women, another plus. The new web site helps her keep marketing costs down so she can keep the quality of her products high and keep production close to her home in Maryland.

Traveling frequently to the fabric centers in Manhattan to check out new fabrics, Ms. Cheskis has developed a collection of cute, cool prints. An Incog-neato placed on a child’s bed could easily be mistaken for a groovy quilt.

“I originally designed them for kids that are too old to wear pull-ups or older children with bed wetting issues. There are so many elementary and older kids with bed wetting problems that are at the age that they do not want to wear pull ups or have a ‘uncool’ thing on their bed,” says Ms. Cheskis. “I’m also familiar with having a wet, sandy dog in my car? I wanted an attractive solution for all of these issues.”

The smallest-sized Incog-neato, about the size of a placement, works well on a child’s or adult’s wheelchair, doing double-duty as a seat protector and cushion. It’s also ideal for a dog basket bed. Larger sizes can cover car seats or the floor of a trunk, or can be used on stadium seats or as picnic blankets, diaper changers and maternity bed covers. Prices range from $ 40 to $ 85 through the company’s new web site, http://www.incog-neato.com.

The small business has grown slowly but steadily, with all profits plowed back into the company. Ms. Cheskis’ Incog-neato pads have already been featured in Jayneoni Moore’s “Boom Boom Room,” a luxury baby and kids style villa open to Golden Globe nominees, television or movie stars, top rock musicians, and paparazzo-magnet celebrities.

Last year, after being scrutinized by six different consumer and trade panels, Incog-neato earned a coveted 2007 iParenting Media Award. A trade magazine, Kids Today, has written glowingly about the product.

Her product has also received a raft of thank you notes from customers.

THE451 LAUNCHES FLAGSHIP REPORT: THE SOAP BUBBLE – A WEB SERVICES TAXONOMY

(PRWEB) February 13, 2002

Cutting through the hype and confusion surrounding Web services

NEW YORK, February 13, 2002—Web services will be an evolutionary step in the IT market, yet vendors are overpromising on what they can provide and hijacking the term to promote their own products and services. Standards are absolutely critical, but vendors seem determined to add further confusion even in this area. The recently announced Web Services Interoperability Organization initiative shows the massive vendor support for Web services, but has also added another layer to the standards process.

The451 today launched a comprehensive analysis of the Web services market. The 130-page report examines when and how enterprises should take advantage of this evolution. It advises them to be wary of vendor claims, and to seek reference sites and standards conformance. It assesses the risks to many vendors that will find their products facing commoditization. And it serves as a warning to investors that many startups face an uncertain future.

Web services are applications that can interact with one another dynamically via Internet technologies. They are reusable components that can be published, located and invoked over the Internet using standard protocols. This can eliminate the need for expensive proprietary solutions. However, Web services will not suddenly eliminate the need for application integration or move us much closer to the nirvana of vast repositories of reusable code.

The451 analyzes the entire Web services value chain and identifies strategies the winning companies will need to pursue. The report details the implications of Web services for major IT vendors, application internetworking companies, Web services platform vendors, integration companies, end users and investors. It analyzes the key decisions that industry players need to make and provides actionable advice on how to become a leader in this market.

The report, which retails at $ 1,495, includes more than 50 in-depth primary interviews with senior industry figures, including 19 of the most promising startup companies. This report is a must-read for anyone involved in the IT market. It is relevant to the vendor community, ISVs, users, investors, consultants and distributors.

The main body of the report provides detailed profiles of the major industry players and startups in Web services. Major players profiled include BEA, IBM, Microsoft, Sun and Tibco. Startups profiled include Cacheon, Killdara, Shinka and Velocigen. The report also analyzes the future direction of the Web services market and the role of standards.
