In The early 80′s a band came out and wasnt exactly

The Rolling Stones.Back in 1981 The Band Called

“The Fixx” wasnt really all that big but they where heard of to some.

In 1996 a Male named Zander Starr created the band called “FIX” ( http://FixTheBand.Cjb.net ),

Zander Owns The Name Of the band “Fix”.

Fix is young in their early 20′s and have worked very hard towards their goals in music.

They are Rock most sexy band ever.

On september 19th 2000, And A&R rep for the older band called “The Fixx” Left a very unproffesional

letter to the bands OLD guest book…that “Fix” doesnt use anymore rather than useing the business phone number or email address’s

listed on the new hot bands site.

He stated that “FIX” was too close of a name

to his quote unquote “popular band The Fixx”

.”The Fixx” is not a current popular band as much as he would like to think so.

A few years back Queen tried Sueing Vanilla Ice for useing

a Queen bassline in his song “ice Ice baby” …but..

Vanilla Ice Won..Due to the fact there was different not added

to the bassline. “Fix” says that If one band

that is over with was named “The Carsss”

then legally a band thats named “Car” should be able to use it.

“Fix” is supposedly under Threat from

the 50 year old band “The Fix”..

Flaxseed Provides Health Benefits for Women; Heintzman Farms Sees Rise in Sales

ONAKA, SOUTH DAKOTA – July 12, 2001: Consumers are getting mixed messages about eating fish. The American Heart Association advises that adults eat 2 servings of fish per week in order to get enough omega-3 fatty acids. But in March the FDA issued a warning that women of childbearing age should restrict their fish consumption since widespread mercury levels found in the country’s fish supply pose a risk to future children. Women should be informed about flaxseed, a lesser-known but increasingly popular source of omega-3s. There is widespread agreement among medical experts that our American diets are typically poor in omega-3 fatty acids. Flaxseed provides omega-3s that our bodies use in exactly the same way and convert into the same compounds, as the omega-3s found in fish. Flaxseed is by far the richest plant source of omega-3s found anywhere. In addition to other health benefits, omega-3s are especially important for women in their childbearing years because they play an important role in infant brain, nervous system and vision development.

Doctors’ recommendations range from 1 to 4 tablespoons of flaxseed per day for optimal levels. While there is no US RDA for omega-3s, countries with established guidelines, such as Canada, recommend slightly elevated amounts of omega-3s for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Women not considering a future pregnancy as well as men should know that omega-3 fatty acids offer benefits in regard to heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol and high triglycerides.

In addition to omega-3s, flaxseed is the richest dietary source of phytohormones called lignans, which have been demonstrated to have a hormone-balancing effect similar to the isoflavones found in soy. Early studies have shown promising results using lignans in treating cancers of the breast, endometrium (uterus), prostate and colon.

While flaxseed is not currently a common ingredient in our Western diets, flaxseed has a 2000-year history as a food source. The World Health Organization and the National Cancer Institute recognize flaxseed as a “super food” for health.

South Dakota flaxseed farmer, Rick Heintzman has seen tremendous growth in the demand for flaxseed over the past few years. Sales have jumped as much as 500% annually, with current sales of about 40,000 pounds per month. His “Dakota Flax Gold” seed is marketed to over 45,000 customers through clinics, hospitals, health food stores and individual customers ordering directly from the farm.

Flaxseed must be ground to make the important nutrients available. Ground flaxseed can be easily added to baked goods, pancakes, and cereals, or simply stirred into beverages. (Recipes follow.)

Golden flaxseed is often preferred for its milder flavor, but is often more difficult to find. He was a lemon-sucker, an ice-water bather, a pathologically picky eater. He was also one of history’s most brilliant military leaders, a daring strategist whose infantry tactics shocked his opponents.

He was Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson, and his life is traced through the places he lived in Clint Johnson’s new book, In the Footsteps of Stonewall Jackson.

The Civil War made him a legend, but Jackson’s life is the stuff of myth. Born in the rugged hills of western Virginia (now West Virginia) not far from the Shenandoah Valley he would so ably defend, Jackson seems always to have been an outsider. Orphaned at a young age, he was accepted into West Point only when another boy from his hometown dropped out. Jackson was far behind his aristocratic classmates in education and social graces, though he graduated 17th in his class.

He was singled out for his heroism at the Battle of Chapultepec during the Mexican War, but he also acquired a reputation as an odd duck. Believing himself frail, he kept to a strict dietary regimen, often bringing his own food, including day-old bread, to parties. He bathed in ice-cold water. He developed a habit of holding one arm in the air, which he said allowed the blood to drain back into his body and restore balance.

In the spring of 1851, Jackson resigned from the United States Army to accept a teaching position at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington. Though his exploits in the Civil War would make him a revered figure to generations of V.M.I. cadets, those who actually studied under him derided him with nicknames not nearly as heroic-sounding as “Stonewall.” Jackson was called “Square Box” for his unusually large feet, “Old Jack” for his eccentricities, and “Tom Fool” for his poor teaching abilities. His standard lesson plan was to memorize the assigned section of the textbook, then recite it to students in class. If a student asked a question, Jackson would recite the relevant passage again.

Rather than try to explain Jackson, Johnson’s In the Footsteps of Stonewall Jackson seeks to define the man by examining the places he knew. The book looks only at Jackson sites in the United States and Canada that can be easily reached by car.

Comparing Jackson to other Civil War figures he has written about, Johnson said, “I believed I knew Lee after reading and researching his life. I cannot say the same thing about Stonewall Jackson. I doubt anyone can truly say they understand Jackson.”

One of the Confederacy’s greatest generals defied Virginia law by teaching slaves to read in his Sunday school class. The man whose closest aides swore was incapable of laughter delighted in sneaking up on his wife and smothering her with kisses. The V.M.I. professor whose utter lack of charisma prompted a group of alumni to call for his removal became a legend in his own time, capable of inspiring his men to do the impossible.

Clint Johnson is descended from a Civil War veteran described on his pension application as “addle-brained by the war.” In addition to In the Footsteps of Stonewall Jackson, he is the author of In the Footsteps of Robert E. Lee, Civil War Blunders, Touring the Carolinas’ Civil War Sites, and Touring Virginia’s and West Virginia’s Civil War Sites. An avid Civil War reenactor, he has appeared as an extra in films such as North and South, Part II. He lives with his wife, Barbara, in Winston-Salem, N.C., where he is at work on In the Footsteps of J.E.B. Stuart.
